Losurdo Foods Inc. is highly focused and committed to food safety. We participate in the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) of the Global Food Safety Initiative Program. Both of our manufacturing facilities (Heuvelton, NY & Amsterdam, NY) are Level 3 certified to the SQF 7.2 standard.
Our plants also follow the Food Safety Modernization Action (FSMA). As part of this program, we do monthly plant inspections and training of employees to ensure we meet SQF, FDA, USPH (United States Public Health Services), and OSHA requirements. We also meet New York State Department of Agriculture, Department of Environment, and Conservation specifications. Along with these standards, we also perform daily inspections and use metal detection at both of our manufacturing facilities.
Key employees have been certified as “Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) SQF practitioners, HACCP and Grade C USPH water operators. These employees are continuously sent out for additional training as updates become available.
